This course will examine where the real estate industry stands in this time of racial and cultural turmoil as well as training resources for agents on this topic. Also included is an update on assistance animals from HUD and the 1-hour sexual harassment requirement for Illinois licensees. LIVE CLASSROOM (No Exam Required) - courses delivered in person at a specified time and location Classroom Requirements Be prepared to take notes. Bring a drink, lunch and/or snacks (if required). Bring your course materials (if not provided). Bring your Photo ID. Attendance & Receiving Credit Payment is required at the time of registration. If payment is not made at the time of registration, this will result in removal from the course. Physical or virtual live attendance for the entirety of the class is mandated by state law to receive credit. Students MUST be on time for all required class sessions to receive credit for the class. Be prepared to provide a photo ID at class check-in. The state requires an attendance sheet at every class, please sign in/out. He attended a country grade school (Ben Funk) and later graduated from Heyworth High School. His next educational adventure took him to the University of Illinois (go Illini!) where he planned on becoming an engineer.That didn’t work out so well, but Kerry did end up with a degree in Business Administration in 1973. He worked on an MBA, but quit for lack of money. He worked several different jobs, from factory to construction to basketball referee in the 1970’s. In 1979, Kerry obtained his real estate license after getting “stuck” on his first house purchase. He later bought the brokerage he worked for, and ran his own company for about 10 years, going back in sales for someone else at that time.Kerry became interested in real estate education along the way, and started teaching prelicense classes in 1988. Shortly thereafter, he got involved with teaching CE throughout the state. He now teaches a variety of classes throughout Illinois and the nation.He also became involved in a plethora of REALTOR® activities and leadership roles. The following are a few highlights:Local Association President, twice REALTOR® of the Year and in 2004 was selected to the BNAR Hall of FameState District Vice President and chaired many committees and task forces, including Seller Disclosure Task Force, for which Kerry earned a Presidential Medallion.CRS of the Year, Educator of the Year and REALTOR®-Associate of the Year were three other honors he earned at the state level.At the national level, he have served on many committees and groups, including the one that started the current Realtor Public Image Campaign.
