DescriptionLocationInstructorsCancellation Policy *This registration fee is discounted thanks to our sponsor, the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA), an Illinois not-for-profit corporation advancing energy efficiency in the Midwest United States to support sustainable economic development and environmental preservation.* There are millions of residential solar systems in the United States and growth is happening all over the country, including states not typically considered sunshine states. As the real estate market sees more homes with solar installations, home buyers and sellers will look to real estate agents who can guide them through the complexities and language this technology entails. When real estate agents understand the value of a solar system: • Sellers have the best opportunity to attain the full value of their investment • Buyers will feel confident that they paid fair market value for their new home AFTER THIS CLASS, REAL ESTATE AGENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: • Discuss the benefits of residential solar • Describe the key components of a residential solar system • Cite the available solar financing options and explain their impact on the real estate transaction • Accurately list solar homes in the MLS • Identify the concepts and tools that can help establish a list price for a home with a residential solar system This class provides the tools real estate agents need to properly communicate the value of solar energy systems in the residential real estate market. Real estate agents that complete the class will be able to differentiate themselves by serving as the source of information on solar. PAAR CENTER FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION - Classroom/Zoom Hybrid PAAR CENTER FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (Classroom/Zoom Hybrid)7307 N. Willowlake Ct.Peoria, IL 61614 Map & Directions Pamela Brookstein Pamela Brookstein is the Project Manager of Research and Innovation for Elevate Energy. In this role she manages the Value for High Performance Homes initiative, an effort to bring together the energy efficiency and real estate communities to ensure that the value of high-performance homes is visible in real estate transactions. Pamela has a background in sustainability and educating the real estate community. She brings these interests together in the classroom to create an encouraging, dynamic, and content-rich learning experience. Pamela thinks that it has become too confusing for people to live a lower impact lifestyle, but real estate agents can play a key role in advising their clients if they understand a few basics. With the information they learn in the Green Designation classes, Pamela can help keep agents at the center of the real estate transaction as more buyers become interested in sustainable living. In addition to her live teaching experience, Pamela, in collaboration with the National Association of REALTORS® Green REsource council, developed and manages two online solar education classes for real estate professionals.
